US OPEN TIME!

Well the final grand slam of the year has arrived with three displays of dominance in todays play from all No1's( former and current)

Kim - destroyed Kutosova spelt wrong probably
Roger - defeated Britton an american wildcard
Serena (probably the most difficult) dispatched Alexa Glatch!

I am thinking this may well turn out to be an unforgettable slamwith so many previous winners on the womens side! With the incredible tussle in the mens game igniting!
It is set up for fire and drama!

I really do wish I was there I am now a regular at wimbledon and have been for the last 4 years now, started at 16 going! I love wimbledon but need to experience another slam to see how they compare. I may try and nip across the channel for the french open next year but isn't easy it kind of conflicts wiht exams!

Anyway so this years US Open.

Men contenders - Federer, Murray, Djockovic, Roddick and oh yeah nadal (maybe) and not forgetting Federer oh yeah already put that.

My heart is telling me this is Murrays time, and his title to win. My head is saying Federer will walk this. With his scintilating display at Cincinnati his first American hard court Masters title in 2 years which is incredible really consideing. His form since his win in Madrid on clay has hardly dipped where his only loss has come in Canada. In this run he's gained 2 more slams surpassed Sampras' tally of Slam titles, completed the career Grand Slam and oh yeah had twin girls... it truely is testament to a man at the start of the year who we all watched in floods of tears after losing the Australian Open to his nemesis Nadal. Making this run seem so much more remarkable. Murray on the other hand has hada stella season on the ATP tour, needs this slam to establish himself in that top 4 and confirm his position. Though it won't be easy with Del Potro and Roddick in his pathway its a tough journey to the final and Federer will meet him there!

The Womens game - WILLIAMS SISTERS!
The End.

I jest nah I actually think the womens game has incredible amount of depth i just think it all is very similar and lacks variety and belief! I like Venus Williams and would love to see her pick up another US Open and end this drought outside Wimbledon at the majors! Though the smart money would have to be on Serena whos won 3 of the last 4 majors, in incredible fashion. Outside the sisters there is Kim. playing fantastic as she did today! There is Maria who is still finding a way around that shoulder injury on serve which has given her a very unpredictable and unreliable serve! Dementieva who is a very solid player, yet just doesn't really have that final punch. Outside of that there is people such as Sam Stosur who has played very well on tour with wins over Serena Williams on the US Open series. There is Azarenka who won Miami this year though it may be a year too early for her, give it another 12 month i think and she may be hitting headlines! There is the 2 serbians Jelena and Ana though they're play is not the stuff of last year though Jelena has shown a little bit of it recently. hmmmmm there is someone else im sure
whats her name, i know that Venus and Serena arn't 1 and 2...............

Oh yeah how did i forget Safina.... one word hopeless! She is mechanical and ugly to watch every point and strike seems a big effort to clunk together all the right cogs and blots. Soon she will be usurped as world number 1 but that may depend on this slam. If she can finally explode that negativity in her head then she may do it! Then we have a real number 1 and she may win some fans.

for example Safina doesn't even have a thousand twitter followers,
Serena nearly a million!

anyway good luck to my favourite players! and I am looking forward to watching it all.

Introducing VV Brown

I was so keen on blogging and have been lazy since anyway going to tell you about this black female artist in Britain called VV Brown! she is fantastic !

Though I guess this isn't an introduction has been around for the past year, releasing tracks but hasn't got as much press and airplay as she deserves.I liked her first song "crying blood" and then I thouroughly enjoyed "Shark In The Water" her newest song to be released off her debut album Travelling Like the Light, is Game over it is a hard hitting track that to me sounds as powerful and as well delivered as a Beyonce track!

This is the music video to it, and I am so impressed, with this track and using Spotify which is a great invention, (shall talk about it in a bit) I managed to listen to her album which was a mature, clever, sassy funky RnB album!

Now I have mentioned spotify I have to say something about it, it is a free download, that enables you to stream music from a large range of music. (Preety much everything about the only thing I struggle finding is Oasis ) It is a brilliant invention which is totally legal because you only stream the music like you would on youtube. You can't save it and put it on to your ipod im afraid though if your like me spends a lot of time on your laptop its worth having. You can create your own playlists and even share them with friends

Seaside Day

Hi I never got round to updating that last post but I really see no point in that now!

My posts have definitely dropped off a little bit, its just cos i have actually had a life the past few days is all.

Well I went to the bournemouth (well in fact more nearer chirstchurch, highcliffe beach) in the afternoon yesterday, and I have to say I loved it! I even went in the sea despite it not being that sunny, taking the dog down there was brilliant he couldn't get enough of it.
It was fantastic, being by the seaside again but avoiding those horrible cheesy and tacky sea fronts. In the evening went down to southbourne which has a really pleasant sea front!

Today I am so tired but the fitness must start again, so I am going to now get my self together and get running. I really want to keep it up I have had a couple of days off and need to get back on it now.

Im back!

Well its sunday morning just. I have not blogged in days..

well what have i been up to, I'm not too sure really and truely shopping friday,
night in with the family, dvd's all day saturday and got fairly drunk last night
and currently hanging.

I will expand a bit on the dvds front i watched 3.

History Boys - was a very clever and thoughtful british drama/comedy about group of "boys" trying to get themselves into oxford and cambridge. In some ways it was a love story of the affection shown in various way amongst all the characters. It was at times, despite showing NO sex scences it was if i am honest a rather arousing movie. Not in a paedophilic way they are after all by this point adults. It just takes into question the struggle of teachers to resist the temptation of abusing the boys trust, and indeed the boys curiousity.

I will finish this off later not feeling good/

A Level EXAM RESULTS!

Yes I am aware I just posted but how did I forget EXAM RESULTS DAY!

Well for me its been a year on since my results. My first choice of University, I had a place at Nottingham to study Veterinary Medicine, needless to say I didn't get in I missed out on the grades by literally the odd question here and there, and quite simply it was crap. We all know it is, and the endless list of platitudes people make don't really help, but nevertheless they are true, I can say this from experience.

At first I had a very simple quick decision about it, do I re-take my A levels and try again or look in clearing. Quite honestly for me when it came to it, I couldn't face another year of my life on A levels. So I decided to have a good look through clearing I had good grades and managed to squeeze myself onto a course at Queen Mary College, University of London! Admittedly I knew very little about the university but the course looked good (Biomedical Science) and kept my options open, aimed at grad entry into Medicine but it would suite for entry into Vet Med as well.

I hope it works out for me, but I do beleive things happen for a reason. I have thoroughly loved studying in London. The University is well known, established and respected, yet vibrant with such a varied mix of people making it such an interesting place to be. Some of my close friends are from France, Canada and even Brazil. I beleive if your one of those people in this sort of postion really go through clearing and see which Unis are offering good degree places. Phone around, look on their websites etc. Check everything out most importantly just don't stop for the next few days. If there isn't anything, really consider whether you want to resit A levels its a big commitment again, some of my friends didn't necessarily improve their results.

Anyway I think if your going through clearing right now, Queen Mary is one of the best bets, its a good University with spaces on a number of its courses. I know I am plugging my Uni eek. This is the link for its clearing list http://www.qmul.ac.uk/clearing/list.php. It is in the top ten highest graduate earners 7 i think? , its 11th in the reasearch paper and though ranks consistently just outside the top 30 Its a really great Uni in London so give it a look! Definitely look around there are many other red brick Unis offering spaces, such as Kings College, Manchester, Liverpool and many others. It's honestly not a bad idea, and with the state of the current world climate jobs are hard to find. So I either suggest re-applying and taking a year out or get a clearing place.

use this to find stats on unis
oops thats queen marys page notice how its 160 IN THE WHOLE WORLD!

i wish everyone the best in whatever they decide its not an easy time, but honestly you will love the University you end up at! You will Love it.

just another day...

Back to training again this morning, same kind of thing but did fast sprints, over a shorter stretch but more repetitions. It's feeling good, managed to squeeze it in before heading in to town earlier this morning, caught up with my ex. He was in fact my first ever boyfriend but now we are just mates really, he's quite easy to chat to and fairly relaxed. Though there really isn't much to do in swindon, so both of us headed home.

I am looking forward to heading back to the city, I say I am in London because it's where i spend most of the year at uni, and now i'm in going into my second year I will spend probs 90% of my time there. Currently at home in the cotswolds for a few weeks..YAWN!

Days are though beginning to role into just one long seemless tapestry...its all a bit boring I might blog again later though I think I might head off to badminton tonight, so maybe not....

This is honestly the dullest blog ever.....................

Rest In Peace "Big Dave".

Today was the funeral of a much loved man Dave Robertson, who's tragic story has touched many hundreds of people.

Big Dave as he was affectionately known by all his family and friends, one of his close friends being my brother, was Kingsdown crematorium, Swindon. The tragedy happened on August 7th 2009, he was visiting his fiance in hospital who was in labour at the time at this time unexpectantly died, the cause of death unknown. The story has been covered by national newspapers The Sun and The Daily Mail. I am sincerely sorry for his young family, as his wife gave birth to their son Samuel David Robertson later that day, he'd also adopted her other son.

Though I did not personally know him, I knew of him and his personality as a very happy, charming man who was liked by nearly all that met him. It is a truely sad story, and I wish all of his family the best in their greiving, but to remember that you grieve and you move on.

Reading! Why does E=MC"2"?

I have spent the late morning sitting back in the sun, enjoying this new book I just bought yesterday. " Then we Came to the End" by Joshua Ferris, its a black situational comedy of the dull and unexciting lives of office workers...loved it so far but interested to see how its going to hold my attention for another 270 pages....

It's a pleasant change from my last read, which was a non-fiction book by Brian Cox called Why does E=mc squared. ( I don't know how to find superscript on here and frankly can't be bothered). Anyway I enjoyed it till I got to about the last 100 pages...Partly I think it was because it slipped into things that I already knew quite well I studied all sciences at A level and though I wasn't the brightest in the class I managed to get the majority of what was going on. I also gained what I wanted really expected from the book when I bought it I dare say most readers will within the first 150 pages! I wanted to have a much deeper understanding of Einsteins well known theorem, and to give the book credit it more than achieved it. Very well written not too patronising and didn't over complicate it self with long and frankly useless maths to someone who is never going to use it!

The last part of the book slipped into describing quantum physics which was a lot of facts which i remembered from my Physics A level and being a biologist thats what I found easiest. Though I think if you did want a greater knowledge of Physics and where it is at the moment its a fantastic read despite skimming over some facts and only offering theories which Brian Cox agrees with but never mind. The only thing I would say is that when you read it, don't just accept it, try and read other books along similar lines which will offer other theories which might well contradict the ones in this book. Yet I am not saying he is wrong or right or that I know more than him just that I am aware there are other theories out there, and that its better to be well informed.

I have probably bored you all to death but there we go. Think I am going to get a cold juice and sit back out in the sun it's a beautiful day in the cotswolds (where my family and where I remain until uni starts again). I've decided i'm taking a day rest from strenous exercise may do some stretches later but going to soak up some Vitamin D!

Texting Infuriates me!

I find it odd sometimes, the way texting works between people, especially in relationships. I mean sometimes you get those people who text you very quickly in short snappy ways others who leave it for a while and are far more casual ( like myself to the irritation of many friends). There are those who cram everything in to one message and those people are tight gits! Though I find it frustrating when you starting out with someone, because your never sure how often to text whether you text back eagerly or just be relaxed about. There are those who say as I used to never double text which i have come to realise is ridiculous, because there are times when you need to send many texts.

I guess it depends on the situation, I just find it all rather frustrating especially when people are keen texters and then stop. You wonder why? why have i done something wrong? have they stopped having feelings for me? Or have they just mis placed their phone? Its just all such a silly game.

As you can probably guess right now I am waiting on a text! I have sent 2 texts already this evening, but i didn't reply to his text earlier because i didn't know there was anything to say? Though right now, I just want to see if he is alright? Its so stupid, it feels like most of the time each other is trying to out fox the other, hoping for more attention!

Its just whether now to play badminton tonight as well? anyway The World Athletic Championships are ON NOW! get watching it!

Whitney Houstons back!

Morning all, what a lovely day just checked the weather its warm and sunny in the south most of the week. So I think if your on holiday in the north book up a hotel down by the coast or even london and explore.

First of all I want everyone who reads this to check out Whitney Houstons website, i will undoubtedly keep plugging this, but she's back and rolling!

Her single "I look to you" has already charted on the billboard top 100 out in the states, and its a true whintey ballad from the heart. Expressing how her daughter kept on encouraging her that she can make it through and come back again. The other song to be released which I think is the better of the two, is retro 80's up tempo song called "Million Dollar Bill" with a contemporary sound! I just think if you like cheesy pop( Lets face it a lot of us do when we're on the dance floor) then go get it. The album is released in the states at the end of the month. Whereas here in Britian I beleive its not until mid october.... but look out for her music videos and these singles.

click here to visit here site, listen to the new songs and sign up to here mailing list!

Sport Weekend Round up! - hehehe like a news reader
On a completely different note World Athletic Championships on again this evening, so get watching it the 100m final was amazing last night with a 9.58 WORLD RECORD set by none other than the Bolt (Usain Bolt just in case your not athletics fan) . So yeah get watching bbc 2 just before 5pm and support our team we are doing well we already have a gold medal thanks to hepthathlete Jess Ennis. Well Done to her, but also Andy Murray who defeated Juan Del Potro 6-7 7-6 6-1 in the final of the Canadian Masters propelling him into World Number 2!

Sunday, 16 August 2009

Hi everyone, this is my opinions, my likes and dislikes, my joys ups and downs and everything else!

It's going to be my diary I think of everything going on in my life. Nothing clever, just a diary I guess!?

I doubt if anyone will ever read this at all, which is odd really. I might as well write it in a book someone might say (thats kind of a paradox i guess) but if i write it in a book I waste paper and time trying to find a pen....

anyway yep thats it
